Colin Sytsma is a Milwaukee based filmmaker who free-lances primarily on documentaries. After working at the award winning documentary film company 371 Productions for two and half years he started Wood Grain Media. Although a freelancer, Colin still does sound, video, producing, and media management for 371 Productions. Right now Colin is the director of photography on the film When Claude Got Shot, a 371 Production’s feature film following a horrific gun violence incident and it’s aftermath. Previous to the two feature films Colin produced Wisconsin’s Mining Standoff for the television show Fault Lines on Al Jazeera America. Colin was the main location sound engineer on There Are Jews Here, a feature length story about what Jewish life looks like in small town America. Besides 371 Productions Colin is co-producing the film From Mass To the Mountain, a story about a rural community in Panama that’s plagued by drought & contaminated water sources.
